It looks like Pr*sident tRump is feeling a bit panicky lately. His weekend tweet-o-rama drama was joined today by this:
x..This is a terrible situation and Attorney General Jeff Sessions should stop this Rigged Witch Hunt right now, before it continues to stain our country any further. Bob Mueller is totally conflicted, and his 17 Angry Democrats that are doing his dirty work are a disgrace to USA!
— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) August 1, 2018Looks a lot like a toddler who has been found with his hand in the cookie jar trying to get mommy fired. Or daddy. Or whomever the consequences flow from when “I didn’t do it” just doesn’t work any more.

Hair Furor isn’t worried about the effect the Mueller probe is having on the country. Nor is that work a “disgrace” to our country. Or a witch hunt (I envision Mueller pointing to all those indictments and guilty pleas he’s already got on a bunch of witches already). No matter how the shameful occupier of the White House wants to frame this as concern for the public good.
I cast my mind back to Watergate and the public proclamations by Richard Nixon that he wasn’t “a crook” (except that he was) while lambasting the Washington Post for poor reporting (except that it wasn’t). He, too, claimed that the whole investigation was nothing more than a gigantic waste of time by his enemies and politically motivated (it wasn’t).
I watched those committee hearings from start to finish. A lot of us did. They were covered nonstop on all 3 networks (the days before cable with endless channels and nothing good to watch on nearly all of them). And this stuff today is smelling like it did back then — of dirty deeds and corruption at the highest levels.
