Scott Walker is so Worried about the Blue Wave That He's Trying to Buy Votes

No joke:

In a blatant ploy to buy votes for his re-election, Gov. Scott Walker signed a law in April that will give parents of young children $100 per-child cash rebate just in time to make them feel good about him -- if they apply by July 2 to get the money later in the summer, along with a one-week tax holiday in August on school supplies.  Sneaky Scott, loading up the pitiful goodies just before the November election.

That’s around 600,000 families in Wisconsin that will get some green to try to prevent them from going blue via $137 million in anticipated disbursements and the sales tax rebate in August (ostensibly to help parents purchase school supplies). What a coincidence that this will happen just in time for the mid-term elections where Walker is trying for a 3rd term to be the Worst Governor in America.

If he was really concerned about families with children, he could reverse the $2 billion in cuts to schools in Wisconsin, cuts to the Earned Income Tax Credit that benefits families with children, and restoring the subsidy for child care. But, no, he doesn’t care except to float some spare change into those programs so he can run ads talking about how he “increased funding” without mentioning the cruel and brutal cuts he’s systematically made while Governor.

Just like the Trump Tax Cut for the Rich that trickles a few cents into the hands of working folks (and a nice rejiggering of the tax tables that won’t be noticed until next years' tax filings) hoping that a little green can hold back the Blue Wave in November.

Pass it along to friends and neighbors, people you chat with in lines at the bank and store, and everywhere else you can that what Walker is doing in Wisconsin and Republicans are doing in Congress is nothing more than electoral bribery.
